I have always believed that looking at the world through the eyes of the children will give us a better perspective of what’s in front of us. They are the ones who look at things, situations and people in such positive ways and are always finding excitement from what they encounter and experience. That’s why when I grow up, I want to be like them. As a teenager, I’ve always known that in able for me to enjoy my adulthood is to find a career involving children. I am very happy that I have been doing this for more than 2 decades now and counting. Though I have been more involved in the management side for the most part of my career, I’m still lucky to be able to be part of the children’s lives whenever I get to visit the classrooms andthrough my daily conversations and interactions with them. I still get to bond with them and I still get to develop a positive relationship with them and their families. The relationships I have formed with the children encourages me to be a better educatorevery day, a person who understands what they need to support their development cognitively, physically, socially, emotionally and mentally.

“I used to be a High School teacher back in the Philippines. I know in my heart that I like to teach. When I migrated to Canada I chose to work with the younger children as I became interested with this age group and I wanted to play a part in their growth and development. I have been enjoying working with the preschool age for the past 8 years and I see myself doing this for another 8 years and more. My favorite thing to do is to sing and dance especially with my family. Aside from these, I enjoy gardening, hiking and eating with my loved ones. Noodles is my most favorite food and the colors green and blue are my favorite colors.
“I am from Nigeria. My husband’s career moved our family to Canada from United Kingdom in 2010. Since then, I have been loving this country and the people I have met. Working with children is my passion. I have been working with children in the UK and wanted to continue it here in Canada. Two of the many reasons why I work with them is I would like to see their dreams being fulfilled and to see them grow. I have 2 boys of my own, David (15 years old) and Elijah (13 years old) that both my husband and I enjoy raising. I like playing basketball and go jogging with my boys during our free time and I also love music especially the percussions. The children I work with knows that I like dancing as I dance with them a lot during the day. Dancing really lifts our spirits and this make our day brighter.
“I am from South Korea and I began working at ACE Child Development Centre way back 2001. My fondness in playing with children led me to my education as an Early Childhood Educator which I took from Bow Valley College for two years to obtain my Child Development Supervisor certification.
When I play with children I felt wonderful. I love the way children view the world, and I felt that it is my responsibility to give the best that I have to reach their full potential. I strongly believe that the children will remember the love and care I’ve shown same way I remembered my grandmother’s love and care for me.
I love music my whole life and have played the flute and percussion since I was young. For this reason, I took Bachelor’s Degree in Music back In South Korea. When I came to Canada I was mesmerized how beautiful the nature and I got enthused with hiking, and camping. Even the snow at winter fascinates me.
“Black is my favorite color. I have a dog named Eugene. I took Early Childcare and Education in school because I have always worked with children and really enjoyed being around them and learning from them. I don’t look at it as a job as this is truly my passion and love what I do.”

Keeps me on my feet, no two minutes are the same and every day is a new adventure to explore, shares our smiles, grow and develop their skills as each child will give you signs when they are ready for the next step and being there every step of the way to guide, teach, assist and encourage them for their success.
