Curriculum Framework

ACE educators take the time to get to know and respect each child as a unique and mighty citizen. It is our joy to observe and learn from you, all of things that your child loves to do. We wish to partner with parents to create positive learning opportunities that fit with the developmental goals you have for your child. We use play based theory when it comes to organizing our environments, provocations and activities for the children. We also use concepts from both the Reggio Emilio approach which considers the child's third teacher their environment as well as Flight which values the image of the child as a mighty learner and citizen which believes in co-created learning experiences and recognizing each child's individual journey. Each classroom team meets formally once a month and informally weekly to discuss their program plans for their respective groups. Observations of the children are documented using learning stories. These are most frequently filled with dialogues and pictures from the children's daily experiences. They are kept in binders that are available to parents or family members at any time.
